Dial something in
Dialin works just like driving with GPS. The car is yours. The GPS helps you find the way.
Nobody gets in without your permission. Not us, not a company, not anyone.
You pick the music and set the temperature. Change anything, or turn it off, any time.
Photos, songs, files, places, and how you feel about them. It all rides with you.
Tell Dialin what you like and what you want to do, like typing a place into GPS.
GPS sees every road. theuniversal sees every offer, song, video and taste at the same time.
It matches you with what fits and points the way. It only sees what you choose to share, blurred so no one knows it's you.
Nobody owns GPS, and nobody owns theuniversal. It's public and run as a non-profit. Dialin is one car, and anyone can build another. Your trust, your points and your tastes ride with you in whichever car you drive.
New to dials? What a dial is ยท The Dial Dictionary
We don't pay you for your data and we never sell it. Points aren't cash. They're a relationship: a place that knows you came back, a table held, an invitation.
When you share a photo, a file or your number, the other person gets a link back to your car, not a copy. Change your mind and take the link back.
theuniversal is public. DIOS and the Dial Dictionary are being opened as source, so anyone can check them and build on them (developers). Dialin itself is private.
Making offers and earning points are free for everyone. Storage details
Sandeep Sharma, the founder, building it as Dialin LLC, a Delaware company. You can write to him at seekers@dialin.io.
In the cloud. Your files are on Storj, an encrypted cloud spread over many independent drives, and your dials sit in a locked database that only you and the people you share with can see. No ads and no trackers. Next, we want your originals to live on your phone, with only locked copies in the cloud. If you've built that kind of thing, help us at seekers@dialin.io.
theuniversal is public and run as a non-profit. DIOS, the dial engine, and the Dial Dictionary are being opened as source; the dictionary is readable today through the developer API, under CC BY 4.0. The Dialin app itself is private.
They aren't cash, and we never pay for data. A point shows you were really somewhere. Points carry a relationship: a place that knows you came back, a table held, an invitation.
Yes, any time, from your account. Export takes all of it with you; delete removes all of it.
Yes if you want to remember the things you love, share them when someone asks, and keep them in a cloud that's yours. Not yet if you want cash for your data, or need everything stored only on your phone today.
I'm Sandeep Sharma. The internet runs backwards: what we notice and feel flows out to platforms that keep it and sell it. Dialin turns that around. Your data stays home, and the world comes to you by invitation. Music is coming next.
Anything near you works. No account needed.
